inconvenient

Whose idea was it to have playoff hockey during the Easter Triduum? (Yes, that's a real word, it means Holy Thursday evening-Easter Sunday morning)

I have a tradition of going "internet dark" (and this includes tv dark) for the Triduum, but with game 5 of the Blackhawks/Canucks and game 5 of the Sabres/Flyers tonight and tomorrow, respectively, I'm a little sad about it. Still going to do my thing but it makes it much more of a sacrifice than usual. *which I guess is the point*

So, with that being said, I'll see you folks on the flipside! Luckily, I CAN watch game 6 of the Sabres, and Canucks (if it happens) on Sunday.. so until then..

Let's Go Buffalo!

C'mon Blackhawks.. I need to see you fellas one more time this year.

Oh, and congrats to the Red Wings for being the first team to move on. Some things never change..

a word or two

I've now seen a few playoff games. Strangely, I haven't seen either Sabres game, except for the last 10 minutes of Saturday's game. I was busy on Thursday night but listened to the 3rd period in the car, and listened to part of the 2nd on Sat and watched the end. (It's weird to have a life that doesn't revolve around hockey!)

I did watch the middle of game one, all of game 2 and most of game 3 of the Blackhawks/Canucks series and the 2nd half of yesterday's game 3 of the Ducks/Predators so I have seen some hockey. Here's what I think:

*Sabres need to stay out of the box. They seem reasonable 5-on-5 and their PK has actually been incredibly good, but you don't want to wear those guys out! They are back home tonight and hopefully will get it together for their home crowd. Coming back with a split is pretty solid.. we'll take it. :)

*The Ducks looked downright AWFUL last night. They were totally unorganized- had no defensive coverage (and Nashville was pressing, hard) and took too many penalties too. I don't particularly care one way or the other about either team, so it doesn't matter to me much who wins.. but that is certainly an interesting series.

*What is wrong with the Blackhawks? They looked rough in game 1, decent in game 2 and pretty good in game 3, but can't solve LuLu. I thought last night night was their best effort thus far, but still wasn't enough. Keith has been brutal on defence.. and this is the defending Norris Trophy winner! They've got to get it together or they are going home Super early. I doubt the 'Hawks can get past the Canucks, but I think they could squeak one win.. guess we'll see.

*And Raffi Torres' hit on Seabrook was pretty nasty. It was deliberate- he didn't even try to play the puck, though it was right there, and it was dirty. Intent to injure? Not necessarily, but he knew what he was doing.. the 2-minute penalty was warranted (and scored on) but perhaps a suspension of 1-2 games is also in order. He's nasty.

*The Canucks are ridiculously good. I know this-- I've seen the stats, and watched them play once or twice this year (and read about a lot more)... but the Sabres won their only matchup this year- in OT! That game was incredible.. and a true taste of how good the Canucks are. They are scary. And fun, not gonna lie. :)

*I haven't watched the Wings yet, but it appears that they are in their usual playoff form.. just going out and getting the job done. I have no idea why, but I kind of have a soft spot for Phoenix.. I really liked their performance in the playoffs last year (even against the Red Wings) and I want to see them succeed. Not likely this year though..

*I can't stand the Sharks, so go Kings! :)

*Washington is up 2-1 on the grossbadguyRangers. Good on them. We all know I despise the Rangers so go Caps go!

*Look at Montreal.. don't totally hate them, but don't love them either. NOT a fan of the Bruins though, so I'm down the Habs winning that series.

*TB and Pitt- also 1-1. I don't much like the Penguins so I guess I'm pulling for Tampa. I really should watch some games there. The Lightning should be an interesting team, with Stamkos, Lecavlier and St. Louis leading the way. Then of course they have to get past McFlurry and that can be difficult....

So there is your extremely informed commentary about the ongoing playoff series, as told by Sam. ;)

Let's Go Buffalo!

Happy Playoffs

PLayoffs start today! :) I will have some predictions soon.. but for now, I will bring back the old Hockey Separated at Birth. No time like the present, eh?

yahoo!

The Sabres are in!

The Blackhawks are in! (but they are playing the Canucks, which means one of my 2 western loves will be gone after round 1. Boo on that.)

The game last night was a hoot- but something happened to me that's never happened in all my years of watching hockey. During warmups, a puck fell on my head. Now I say "fell on my head" because I didn't see it coming at all. I was sitting in row 3, by the Sabres end, watching them and pointing out players to my nephew.. when all of a sudden I feel this THWACK on the back of my head.. it was a puck. Don't know where it came from (obviously the ice, but I dunno who shot it) and I have no clue where it went.. but ouch! I was fine- it hurt but no damage was done. I was just happy it was me and not the 5-yr old I was with. Wish I had gotten the puck though!

But the Sabres won and we had a wonderful time- my 2 nephews were leading the opposing "Let's go Jackets" and "Let's Go Buffalo" chanting in our section.. it was adorable. :)

Let's Go Buffalo indeed.

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

so ya see..

I haven't been watching nearly as much hockey as I should lately.. I am busy with another play. I guess it's actually okay that the Sabres aren't in the playoffs anymore, because I would have to miss a lot of games and that would make me sad.

So yeah. I'm sad that the Wings are out, but I wasn't expecting them to get past the first round anyway. Yay for Montreal beating Pittsburgh and what is up with Philly? Oh well I don't like Boston or Philadelphia so I want Montreal to win the East at this point. Whoa, scary though, eh?

In the West, though I enjoy the Canucks, I must say that I like the Blackhawks more. I only saw part of one game in the series cuz I'm a slacker like that but yay for Chicago winning! :)

And since it's Wednesday and I actually have one- suggested by my dear sister Brett, here is a Hockey SAB for you:

-Actor Aaron Eckhart- seen recently as Harvey Dent in "The Dark Knight"

AND

-Former player/Current Asst Coach of the Habs, Kirk Muller

Separated at Birth? YOU be the judge. I think it's a pretty good one, but again, I can't claim it- my sis sent it to my attention. She's got a good eye, non?

I hope to see some more of the Conference Finals but not guarantees- the next 2 weeks are gonna be BUSY!

2 legit

Well so much for my playoff predictions.

It was a crazy goal anyway but hey, as fans, we can believe whatever we want to. And if the Sabres had bothered to play more than 2.5 inspired games in the series and considered scoring a power play goal, things may have been quite different. It reminds me of the old cheer my brother's baseball team used to do:

"you've got to want it, to win it, and WE WANT IT MORE!"

Clearly, Boston was the team with that attitude and I have idea what the Sabres were thinking.

But I guess they'll have a lot of time to figure it out.

Get rid of Tim Connolly, stat. I'm sick of his soft play.

Aside from him, I don't have much to say about the rest of the fellas at this juncture. I may come up with something down the line.

Luckily for me, I have some backups. I rather enjoy the Blackhawks (and Patrick Sharp and his super foxy playoff beard) and the Canucks and it looks like those two teams are primed for a rematch so things could get really interesting out west. Speaking of, even though I'm a Red Wings fan, I picked Phoenix to win that series and they are going to a game seven. It could be really something..

Montreal.. what the? Halak was pretty ridiculous tonight, eh?

Enough for now. Goodnight Sabres. Sorry that only half of you wanted to play only half the time. The rest of those suckers dragged you down too much. I hope the guys who did show up really give it to the dead weight. They need to hear it. UGH.

playoff schedule whaaaat?

Game 1: Thursday, April 15, Boston at Buffalo, 7 p.m.
Game 2: Saturday, April 17, Boston at Buffalo, 1 p.m.
Game 3: Monday, April 19, Buffalo at Boston, 7 p.m.
Game 4: Wednesday, April 21, Buffalo at Boston, 7 p.m.
*Game 5: Friday, April 23, Boston at Buffalo, 7 p.m.
*Game 6: Monday, April 26, Buffalo at Boston, 7 p.m.
*Game 7: Wednesday, April 28, Boston at Buffalo, 7 p.m.
*If necessary

Note the 1 p.m. start on Saturday for Game 2 and the two days off between a potential Game 5 and Game 6.

Saturday's game at 1pm? WEIRD. I will most likely be going to one of those games... wooooot!

:) I'm not scared of the Bruins. The Sabres have played well against them and if Vanek is really back (and Royzie too, he is suddenly a scoring MACHINE) then we have nothing to worry about.

Bring it on!

I will do some other predictions and whatnot at a later time.. just excited that the season is done and it's time for the dance. (for the first time in blog-form.. whee!)

writer's block

I have things I want to say about the Sabres but I can't seem to form them into coherent thoughts for some reason.

I was at the Ottawa (Senateurs of DOOM) game last week and it wasn't the best. The Sabres DID have 42 shots though and played decently for most of the game. At times they looked totally unorganized and Ottawa did not, but it certainly was not the worst game I've seen from them this year. The Pominville/Montador 2-on-0 breakaway goal was particularly sweet.

I want to talk about the playoffs and how exciting they are and how it always brings me back to my first hockey season, which started during the playoffs.. but I just don't know how to say all of it.. yet. It will come. I can't force it and I just post when the mood strikes. I am going to try and watch the last few games just to remember what the Sabres look like-- I was AT the game Friday but haven't watched any others in quite a while- I always seem to be busy when they are playing.. Missed Saturday's romp because I was seeing Our Lady Peace (BEST BAND EVER!) in North Tonawanda, and last night's drubbing of the Panters because I had play practice. I won't see tonight or Saturday's games due to Holy Thursday and then the Easter Vigil church-ing, but GO SABRES and I hope to see the last 4 to get ready for the playoffs. WOOHOO!

So that's all I've got. I do still care about the Sabres, very much, just have been very busy and not able to watch or comment on the games of late. Be sure I will be checking some playoff hockey and following the hunt for seedings because this is when it really gets fun. It really is a relief not to be fighting for a spot till the 13th hour this year. :)

eww

Yick, the Penguins won. I don't like them. They aren't up on the ladder of hate like the Flyers, Rangers or the Avs, but they are just icky.

I still haven't properly processed my feelings about the Wings/'Hawks. Maybe I'll get to it later. I hope to watch the game later..need to get my Sharpie fix. ;) Hopefully the Blackhawks will show up for this one..

razor sharp

Oh wow. What a crazy game. The Wings were down 0-3, scored 3 in about 4 minutes to tie it, then the 'Hawks won in OT.

*Phew* A few thoughts on tonight's tilt:

-WHY did Kronwall get ejected? I really don't think that was a dirty hit. Havlat had his head down and was off balance. It didn't help that he had 2 guys dropped on him after he was down either. I dunno, I just didn't think that was fair but that's me.

-Helloooo Sharpie. :) I liked the 2 interviews- after the 1st period and after his GAME WINNER in OT! Word. So my sis calls me during the first intermission, and she says.. "Oh I saw Patrick Sharp being interviewed. Now I understand why you're always drooling over him." LOL TOLD YA! ;)

-What exactly happened to Khabi? I guess he was sick or something.. I didn't quite get the story, and in true VS. style, they babble forever yet tell you NOTHING! Weird. I thought Huet did a nice job weathering the storm in the 3rd though. good job, buddy.

-Pahlsson's pass to Sharp for the game winner was SICK. To thread a pass though a couple of guys to the guy who just happens to be streaking towards the net (which was crazy cuz Sharp was practically behind the net when he sent the puck back that started the sequence which resulted in Pahlsson's pass but still. Crazy madness and sweet passing. Well done dude.

-I still love the Wings and I loved the way they calmly executed the comeback, but I'm totally excited that the Blackhawks won tonight because it will extend the series and that can only be a good thing. :)

-I'm in Ohio visiting my parents this weekend and I was telling them about the "Detroit Sucks" chant that they do in Chicago which I find hilarious. (for those of you unfamiliar, in lieu of a "Let's go Hawks" cheer, the fans instead say "Detroit Sucks") The also were amused by this.

-Oh and anyone who watched Hockey Central after the game heard this but Detroit is 0-93 in playoff games in which they have trailed by 3 or more goals. 0-93. WOW.

And on that note, I'm outta here. Can't wait till Sunday.

Let the games begin

I missed both game 1s as I'm playing Mom to the nephews for a few days, but I will try to catch tomorrow's game- I need to see my main men and decide once and for all who I am cheering for in that series. I think it's the Wings but man those Blackhawks are tempting. But I've been a Red Wings fan for 15 years and you can't just throw that away.

And I need to see the energy of that series- I love the rivalry between Detroit and Chicago, it's amazing. Guys, I was AT the Winter Classic this year and the place was electric. And my Blackhawks friends say that games against Detroit were always like that. I wish the Sabres had a rival that we get that fired up about. I guess the closest would be maybe Toronto, because of proximity but really there is nothing like the atmosphere of a Wings/Blackhawks game. There are plenty of teams that the Sabres don't like but few that we actually get crazy about hating, ya know?

I think I've figured out what it is about the 'Hawks that is so appealing. (Besides the obvious Sharp factor LOL) They are what the Sabres wish they were. They are young, speedy, tough and talented, without any HUGE name players but a lot of pretty decent guys that work really well together. True they have Kane and Toews, who are a pretty hot duo, and Kaner was a #1 pick, but still most of their guys are players who quietly go out and get the job done. The Sabres want to be like that. The Sabres used to be (almost but not quite) like that and they want it back. And maybe that's why I like the Blackhawks so much, because they are plucky. I think I've used that word before to describe them, but it fits. They play exciting hockey and I love exciting hockey. You don't have to score 129386 goals a night to play exciting hockey, you just have to play with passion and persistence and I will love you forever. Speed, foxy playoff beards, the occasional scrap and some nifty goals don't hurt either. ;)

So lay it on me, fellas. I know as soon as I see the BIG RED MACHINE again I'll remember why I love them so much- because I do love the Wings, even if they are not my old time Wings. They still have Osgood, who I never gave up on, even though he was pretty rough this year (who's been playing all the playoff games? Not Conklin!) will always be my boy.

I guess what this ramble is about is that I am cheering for the Wings officially, but I would not be heartbroken if the Blackhawks won, because i greatly enjoy the city of Chicago and the team, and it would be wonderful for them to get a Cup back there after a very long absence. As long as it isn't Pittsburgh or Carolina, I'm good, because I have no love for any team which has a Staal playing for it. ;)

perhaps some thought on the East later.

creative i guess

You can tell that my life has gotten busy in the last few months by the number of posts I have (haven't) been posting. I had 27 in Jan, 21 in Feb, 14 in March, 7 in April and only 4 so far in May. Well this is #5 but still. Yikes.

I am really busy though.. but that is no excuse. There is still hockey going on, even if it's not the Sabres and so I am still watching and should be commenting. I have a lot to say, but no time in which to post it right now. So it will all wait. I'll save it up for a boring summer day when I am wishing for some ice.

In the meantime, I do have a kinda mean (but true) hockey SAB for the week.

-Mike Green of the Capitals

AND

-The Invisible Man

Separated at Birth? (at least in the playoffs) YOU Be the judge. The same could be said about Alex Semin. He's like Malkin of last year's Finals.. forgot to show up. WHOOPS!

Tonight's game was brutal, what I saw of it. Obviously the score tells most of the story 6-2. By far the most lopsided game of this series. The Caps fell behind and never got it back. Sad but true. They did a lot of good things in the series and made it further than last year, on a rookie goalie and missing some serious talent who decided not to show up so there is surely an upside here. They just got out-played by a desperate, talented, and fireing on all cylinders Penguins team. It happens.

I thought it was really cool how the fans applauded for the final 2 minutes. That was classy of them. Even when your team is getting destroyed, to show your support and thanks for a great season in a vocal way like that was really cool. It almost made me cry. I'm a bit of a sap, and I could just feel the emotion in that building. I've been there before- at what you know to be your team's final game until October. And it hurts like hell but then you have to show 'em some love because you do love them, whether it's game 82 of the regular season, game 4 of the first round of the playoffs, game 7 of the finals, or anywhere in between. They are YOUR boys and you love them. And that's why you keep watching and keep coming back. So kudos to the fans in Washington. That was cool. (not that this is in any way exclusive to Washington, but they were on tonight and it was a sweet example.)

And on that note, I need some sleep. Goodnight.

Tuesday, May 20, 2008

YAY!

And the Wings are victorious! Dallas gave them a good run for the money, but Detroit is just unstoppable!

It should be a fun final- Detroit and Pittsburgh. I think Detriot will win- Pit doesn't have the defence to stand up to the Wings' constant onslaught. But we may see some seriously high scoring games, which would be fun. (Now, I don't mind a goaltending duel either, I just like hockey!!) I want this series to go the full 7 games- it would make hockey go as long as possible (though geez, but the finals are early this year!) AND if it goes to 7, then my sis Renee' will get to see game 7 (and maybe 6, it just depeneds on when she gets home) so that would be grand. Plus, I like the Wings and I want them to win, but it's not really a do or die thing for me so 7 will be slightly stressful but it won't be crazy. ;)

Yippie!

And, as an aside, Brendan Morrow (when I can remember what he looks like) is kinda hot. And he's good. I'd like him on my team, but I don't think he's going anywhere. Rats.

Thursday, May 8, 2008

That was fun

I only caught the 3rd period of tonights game (I know, I know but life gets in the way of hockey sometimes!)

But yay for the Wings. It was a pretty solid effort all around. Woohoo Osgood with the 7 starts= 7 wins! :)

Dallas looked a little lost, but I'm sorry, I'm just not buying the whole "well they played 4 overtimes on SUNDAY" line. Yes, they did play that long, but that was 4 days ago if they aren't over it by now, they need to get into better shape or something. It's not a good excuse. (I don't think the Stars were trying to excuse themselves in this way, but I did hear our friend Edzo say something like that.. no way dude. no way)

Other than that, I'm out of hockey news. I do have some interesting search terms. I'm sure I'll do a blog on it again soon, those are always fun filler. And I have been visited by folks in the USA, Canada, Japan, England, Sweden, and South Korea. Neato and hello to all of you! I have some new states that came up too, but that will all be revealed in good time.

For now it's back to my literary pursuit of the moment, Guy Gavriel Kay's Sailing to Sarantium.

Saturday, May 3, 2008

I *heart* Montreal

awww man the Habs are pretty much done. it's 6-4 with 20 secs left. :( I think I broke them, they were up 3-1 until I turned on the tv. WHOOPS!

but wow the Canadiens fans are very classy (at least they are tonight). They cheered their guys even when Philly scored that empty netter and they knew it was over. That's good stuff.

Poor Carey Price. Don't worry buddy, you're still just a kid. You did a lot here and I'm sure that you will have more chances. Don't beat yourself up too much over this.

Good job Marty Biron. I do still enjoy you, since you didn't shaft the Sabres. But I still don't like the Flyers. yick.

Oh dear. CHris Simpson is wearing a jacket that looks like someone's ugly random curtains. seriously, what is she thinking?!

weird. when Umberger scored one of his goals, he ran straight to the bench instead of hugging his guys on he ice.

e-surance commercials bother me.

ugh I feel gross. I ate too much dinner but it was good food. my family likes to cook too much and so I like to eat too much.

Hey, tomorrow is Derek Roy's birthday! I would like to spend the day staring and pictures of Royzie and watching his episode of 'cribs' but I have other things to do. Oh well. I guess I'll survive. ;) ;)

Friday, May 2, 2008

yowzers

wow, guys I'm watching hockey and blogging at the same time! this doesnt happen to me very often because I dont have a tv in my room, and my computer cannot move. But my sister's laptop is downstairs and she's not using it so.. whee!

so.. Sharks v. Stars. I don't care that much but I rather dislike San Jose so I'm pulling for Dallas. I am NOT a fan of JOe Thorton, he just bugs me for some reason. And then there's lame old Soupy. I love how he's been invisible/strugglin this post season, it makes me feel better about how much I wanted him to LEAVE Buffalo. We knew the truth about him. and I'm glad they aren't so hyped about him anymore. so there is that. Then there are those skanks who screwed around with a girl I used to be friends with (also a skank) when they were in cleveland. GROSS> So yeah SJ is not flowin for me. I do have sort of an old school enjoyment of Jeremy Roenick but it's not enough to outweigh the yuck factor.

dont care much about Dalls really but they don't bother me either so there ya go.

The Wings tore up the Avs last night 8-2 and that makes me HAPPY! I hope hey don't lose the momentum while they're waiting for Dallas.

Now let's talk about commercials- WTF with the Touch of Gray hair color? that is just random as all getout. I do enjoy the Honda lawnmower one with the dude saying "Smooth" with that ridiculous expression on his face. it's just dumb but funny. I could seriously do without that lame 2 year old Enterprise commercial though. It's soooooo OLD! and completely lame. What other commercials need to be commented on? I think the VS "That's how the Cup changes everything" ones are neat, but I liked 2006's "This is MY Stanley Cup" better. THose were AWESOME!

My gosh I miss the Sabres. It's like an ache in me. I keep wanting/half-expecting to turn on the tv and see them, or catch a game on the radio while driving home from Buffalo late one night after work, but NOOO. That is not to be this spring. :( And I can't even get my Royzie fix with watching World Championship games because they're all at 3:15 and I am not available at that time of day to watch a hockey game. BOO. SPeaking of, how did they do? *checks* 5-1 win over Slovakia. Sweetness. Royzie played 13 minutes. No points and even on the +/- so he either wasn't on the ice for any of Slovakia's goals or one and one. Whatev, at least he played. What up Dany Heatley with the hat trick? whoa. Pommers didn't score for team USA either. But Zach Parise did!

Woo now it's intermission and we get to listen to the idiots in the studio. Egads I hate versus. I miss John Buccigros and Barry Melrose dearly. And Darren Pang, and Gary THorne and Bill CLement. What happened to Clement anyway? He was grand. I think the lat time I heard Thorne he was doing baseball. Oh why did you abandon us ESPN?! WHYYYYY!?

Thank goodness it's Bob Harwood and not that idiot lame skank Chris Simpson. I HATE that stupid shiny jacket she wears all the time and I swear she's got nothing on under it. Sooo professional. *rolls eyes* Can you tell I love her? Grah. I'm lame I know but I Have nothing else to do right now. This is why it's a good thing I don't have tv and computer at the same time more often., Youd get to read more of this drivel.

Oh wait, while we're on commercials- we are, don't you remember? It's a great thing that I now know what to do if anyone I know has ED- they can take Cialis, so when the moment is right, they can be ready. So glad I know this. Because it's Super relevant to my life. Do they think the only people watching hockey are old men? Honestly. and one more commercial to harp on- I can't stand that stupid Edge shaving gel commercial. I'm sorry but it's creepy to see those scantily clad women squirting shaving foam on this dude's face like they're getting off on it. SICK! ANd even worse are the girls flying up that other dude's nose, with the same orgasmic expression. Grrooooooossssss!

ewww now they are talking about Jagr. Double gross. Almost as gross as Brian Engblom's hair. eugh. or Sid's facial hair. Perv city! I'm sorry Kiddo, but if you can't get anything better than that scrappy whatever it is on your face, don't grow anything!

speaking of growing hair, I know how to do that, thanks to the rogaine foam commercial they keep showing in my face. That one is almost tolerable though because that dude is kinda hot and looks a bit like Pavel BUre. Mm. I remember really old commercials for Rogaine, when they wouldn't tell you what it was. It used to confuse the hell out of me. I'd be like... they tell you to ask your doctor about Rogaine, but what is it? I asked my mom once and she said that "if you needed it, you'd know" which of course only made it more mysterious. this was before the internet when you could look up anything you ever imagined so I just had to wait until it became public that Rogaine was for re-growing hair. WHoa, the scandal! Who cares? It was weird.

okay enough stream of consciousness babbling. I'm out!

in the eleventh hour

I am not too happy with the way the first round turned out. Only the Wings are still standing of my teams! They will play Colorado, which is good I guess. It should be fun at least. I wanted Calgary though! I don't like San Jose. Yuck.

and I had to think long and hard about a Hockey Separated at Birth for today. By the way, if anyone wants to e-mail me a suggestion for a SAB, I'll happily accept them. But this is what I've got for today:

Henrik Lundqvist of the Rangers and
Actor Goran Visjnic (he has a good hockey sounding name) of ER. (or at least he was on ER, don't know if he's still around or not, I haven't watched in years)

Separated at Birth?

Pretty.

That's all folks!

Wednesday, April 16, 2008

is not a happy hockey night

argh. What a crappy hockey night. Hasek reeked up the joint- AGAIN- HELLO Detroit, will you please start Osgood next game?! idiots!

The Devils lost. Grr. I watched part of the game, and it seemed like every time I left the room the Rangers scored. yuck> I hate the Rangers and all their bastaard free agents. Gomez and Drury, you are so dead to me.

In happier news, Ottawa got SWEPT!!!!! Whuuhahahahahahahaahahahahahahaahaha!

And I got my Nintendo games I ordered on Ebay today! (I got the system the other day) It's 2 of the most ghetto-ly awsome games ever- Solstice and Base Wars. Rock on dude. Talk about a time warp.. LOL I love it!

now my thumb kinda hurts though.. LOL

And since it's Wednesday, I must give you a Hockey Separated at Birth. This one is kind obvious but necessary and I'm very tired and it's been a busy day so I didn't want to have to think too much. I give you...

Bozo the Clown AND Brian "Soupy" Campbell

Separated at Birth? You be the judge. ;)

Monday, April 14, 2008

hasek you are an old man

Way to suck for the Wings tonight old man! I want Osgood!!

I tried to watch some Avs/Wild but I hate the Avs (and it's like a time warp with foote and forsberg back in the fold) and I jsut dont know enough about the Wild. I sat through 1 period, though I tossed it to CBC cuz the VS guy had an annoying voice. Harry Neale was doing the color on CBC. That was WEIRD.

I loved the Bud Light commercials on CBC- hilarous! and woohoo Subway representin!

I think that's it for playoff game 3s for the night. Oh yeah.. bye bye Ottawa! Suckers!

Good Job Marty!

Yaaaaaaaay Waaahooo John Madden! The Devils win it in OT and now the series is 2-1. Much better. And I got to watch most of the game. Double wahoo! :) I also took in part of the Caps/Flyers game- meh on the outcome, but good for Biron since he's on my fantasy team!

I flipped back and forth between CBC and VS so I saw some snippets of the Habs/B's game. Missed the game winner though. Bleh, I don't like Boston! But the game was pretty interesting. Those Montreal fans are NUTS! And the Garden was seriously loud. Good job fans.

That's it for me for today. I hope to watch some of the Wings action tomorrow- and maybe even the Wild/Avs or the Penguins or whatever is on. but I'm afraid I'll miss the Devs on Tuesday (if I go see Collective Soul, which I am still planning to do) but maybe I'll DVR it. Now it won't be elimination at least! Phew!

Yay Playoff hockey!

and seriously, has anyone noticed how Ovie sprouted a serious beard overnight? Madness!
