Marty's BETTER

I do love my Sabres, but they were pretty bad tonight. They looked like they were skating through sludge. Timmy Connolly in particular looked like shit.

Miller did not have a stellar night in net. He let in at least 2 goals that he probably really shouldn't have but it happens. TO the jerk behind me who kept talking about how Miller isn't an 'elite goalie', you can SHOVE IT! Miller has been playing extremely well this season, and is allowed to have an off night. (please remember, when you (a "Sabres fan")are shouting this crap about how the only elite goalie is Marty- that Marty let in 5 goals on 26 shots just last week. Does that make him any less of an 'elite goaltender'? I should think not. Shut up until you know what you're talking about.

The people behind me were ignorant, obnoxious, loud assholes and that kinda really added to the suckitude of the overall experience, but...

MARTY tied the shutout record RIGHT in front of me!!! I got to see history being (tied?) made!

That was pretty badass. The Sabres didn't challenge him too much, but there were a few shots that had a little 'mustard on them' and he had to work a bit for them so it wasn't just cakewalk.

Well that was an interesting game. They really made it fun at the end. I have only a few thoughts on the game.

Settle down Timmy, Miller actually tripped Parise, which is while he fell. Oh, that. I appreciate you sticking up for your goalie, but relax a little. It looked like his head was going to explode.. that can't be healthy.

I effing LOVE Marty Brodeur. This is not news, nor is it a secret at all. I don't even feel bad about it because I've liked Marty for a long time now- much longer than I've been a Sabres fan. I did feel a bit weird wearing my Marty's Better shirt but that was only for warmups, I was cheering for the Sabres all night, had my jersey on and everything.

I felt like such a nerd during warmups.. I was all spazzy and **EEEEEE* Marty!!! Langenbrunner!! David *drool* Clarkson!! Pariseeeeee!!!! Madden!!! Shanny!! It was great. Heeeheee.

Mike Mottau kept giving me stares and smirks.. every time he skated past during warmups. It was weird. He's kinda cute though.

David Clarkson is GORGEOUS. I know this is well documented, but pictures and videos do not do him justice- the guy is just... dreamy. Wow. Yeah I was melting every time he skated past. It was ridiculous.

And that is about that. I think the Sabres are still not mathematically eliminated from the playoffs but the chances get slimmer and slimmer. However, if they continue to play like they did for the 3rd period tonight then at least we will enjoy the rest of the season, and maybe steal a couple of games.

I am so amazingly in love with Mr. Brodeur right now. I want to re-read his book just to feel closer to him again after this incredible record-breaking win! Marty's autobiography is amazing, btw. Read it if you haven't yet. I'll loan it to ya (after I'm done with the re-read.)

I have more to say.. gonna break down a hockey news article that pissed me off comparing Patrick WahWah to Marty.. it was okay 'til the end- and maybe some rambles on the Sabres but I prefer to ignore them right now so probably not. But for now, I'm off.

P.S. I FINALLY found my "Marty's Better" shirt! YAY! Now I can wear it to the game on the 4th.. wooooooot!

Marty gets shutout #100

What else is there to say about him? Comes back from a pretty rough injury that cost him 4 months- gets 3 wins and 2 shutouts right away? That's STELLAR.

Man I've missed him. I think I really have to guy buy some tickets for the April 4th game when the Devils come back to Buffalo, just to see my Marty. That's what was *supposed to happen* in December with my birthday tickets..but someone had to be injured..

I do have money from my tax refund.. Hmmmm... time for a visit to stubhub, methinks. :)
