yeah yeah

SABRES hockey is baaaaaaaack!

Royzie scored the first goal for the Sabres. Man was it pretty.. wooooweee. :) Good job, lad. :)

Can we PLEASE just part ways with Connolly now? I am tired of his lazy play. Get some hustle, bro. Lindy needs to put Niedermayer on the 2nd line, keep Goose at 3rd and throw Gerbe in the mix on the 4th line and let Connolly sit. I would take 42 Gerbes over one Timmay. Sick. Of. Him.

Can I say how happy I am that Sabre-killer Spezza isn't playing tonight? It's such a relief. my dude is like the boogeyman for the Sabres. It's better when he's not there. Alfie has been suspiciously quiet tonight too. (knock on wood) In fact, all the Sens seem to be a bit slow. Fine by me. :)

Gotta go do some laundry. Last time I left the room, Royzie scored. ;)Didn't work this time.. maybe when I go to put my nephews to bed in a little while..

Nope, kids are in bed and still the score is 1-1. 3rd period now.

WOOOOO Royzie with another goal. Vanek was on the doorstep, so even if it hadn't bounced off Leclaire's skate, he probably would have popped it in. Either way, a goal is a goal. 2-1 Sabres!

Oh my goodness the end of this game is crazy. 1.3 seconds left? ahhh just end it!

YAY! Sabres WIN! Over Ottawa, even. Way to go boys! YYYYYAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

**though I'm a little worried about Royzie. He blocked that Kovalev shot point blank late in the game on the penalty kill. It clearly was hurting him but he gutted it out and finished the shift and blocked another shot (he shared that one with Pommers.) I don't believe he was on the ice any more during the game. Then at the end when they won, he was sitting on the end of the bench (they did a pan of the bench and Lindy walked by and patted him on the head.. lol) and he did jump on the ice but didn't go all the way over to the congratulatory line for Ryan Miller. He just came out at the end... doesn't look good, but I hope he's just a little sore and it's nothing serious. My boy is on fire, you can't shut him down now with an injury!!!!!!!!!!!!!!**

Post game EDIT: Just saw the new Green Team commercial. How adorable is Goose? And Hellllooooo Mr. Montador. I LIKE the new hair. I liked it long but the short and messy thing might be even hotter. Not gonna lie, I have the hots for Monty. :)

HUZZAH!

There is hockey- real, live, regular season hockey on my television right now! :) YAAAAAAAAAAYY!!!

And my boyo Sharpie got a point. Hossa took the goal, but that's okay- because I have both of them on my fantasy team(s). Not the same team or league but they are both representin. The stinky Avs are winning at the moment (early in the 3rd) but there is still time.

My nose itches. Just wanted to share that.

C'mon 'Hawks! Where's your Defending Stanley Cup Champs "swagger"? They seem quite fond of that term tonight.

Colorado is blocking shots left and right on this power play. Wow.

Man I have missed hockey. Have I said that lately? But guess what? HOCKEY IS BACK!

Wooohoo just saw a clip from Jordan Eberle from Edmonton's goal. It was pretty. He's on one of my teams. :) But man oh man, what is up with the Oilers' uniforms? They are uuuugly. Looks like retro night or something and that is just not necessary. Shorthanded goals are great though.

SHARPIE SCORES! Great heads-up play to grab a loose puck in front of the net. I love that man. Now we're tied.

Out of town update again- Eberle has another goal- this one a PPG. What a nice fantasy addition!

Oh man now they are talking about Sharpie and how awesome he is (duh) and they showed one of those nice little cut-away videos where he turns around with a hockey stick over his shoulder.. and ooooh my I had to rewind it and watch it again. Those EYEBROWS. I'm a little puddle of goo. Sorry, I'm embaraassing myself.

Let's get back to hockey. It's overtime.

Awwww. Poo. The Avs won. :( Oh well, it's just game 1 of 82. There's time. Turco looked a bit sloppy at times tonight. He needs to be better but it wasn't a bad game.

Bring it on

WoooO! There is hockey on my tv, for the first time since June. YAY! Some observations from tonight's matchup between Washington and Boston.

-Glad to see Engblom still has the mullet. Keep it going strong, brother. ;)

-Sloaner make the cut, but he's not playing tonight. He's the spare 'D' man.

-YAY it wasn't Christine Simpson doing the intermission interview.. I can't stand that girl. Of course, now I have an exclusive interview with Sid to look forward to.. think I'll pass.

-Is it me or are car commercials getting weirder and weirder? You have the people who look like "flowers' in the.. I think it's a Prius commercial.. then I just saw that weird one for a Honda Insight. It's a CAR.

-EWWWWW we were just treated to a show of Sid's perve-stache from last year's playoffs.. GROSS. I did not need to be reminded of that. LOL

-I need to find the "Top 10 THings You'll Never Hear a Hockey Player Say" from Letterman last night. It may have been the Rangers (puke) but that is bound to be funny! And even funnier is how wooden Drury is when he presented his line. Could you make an effort, dude?

-I'm not going to lie- I absolutely adore hockey. You guys know this. I'm not a Sabres fan, I'm a hockey fan who likes the Sabres. (and other teams) That being said, I am ecstatic to see hockey on tv again.. but I don't know if I'll sit through this whole game. It's not a bad game, and wooo!hockey! but I am in the middle of a fantastic book right now and I'd really rather read.. so I think I'm going to do that and check up on hockey later. Maybe I'll catch a bit of the Canucks/Flames game on CBC tonight. And I will most certainly check the Sabres on Saturday! (I'm GOING to the game next Thursday.... wooo!)

!

I saw my first live hockey of the year last night- the Blue Jackets and Predators. It was a great time. I love hockey and hockey with a big group of crazy friends is even better!

Columbus won the game, they had a couple of fights and we about had a rumble with some skanks in front of us. It was a complete evening. Oh and we started the "Let's go Jackets" chant a couple of times cuz we're awesome like that.

I hate the Predators. Have I said that here before? Yick. The Sabres only played them once last year and that was a crazy game. I'm glad we don't have to see them more often.

Today it's off to watch CBJ practice at 11, then back to Dayton for the afternoon. Wright State and UD play hockey at 5:40 so I will go to that, and probably an open skate afterward, reliving my high school years spent skating every saturday night. WOohoo!

I love vacation! ;)

GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT?!?!

THE SABRES ARE BACK!

I saw them with my own eyes today!!! I took the nephews skating at the pepsi center this morning. (they do a preschool skate in the mornings and we hadn't been for a while so it seemed like a good idea. Ulterior motives? Me? Ha!) Seriously though, what better way to seem less puckbunnyesque when approaching a Pominville or Roy than with a coupla kids who love the Sabres? (one of whom still thinks every hockey player is DerekRoy LOL)

But anyway we arrived about 9:30 and go to get our skates on and there is this dude in the lobby area who looks dead on like Jason Pominville. But I was like.. nyah there's no way. This guy was kinda small and he was just chatting it up with this official looking guy so I figured he was one of those dudes who just come of the open hockey sessions, right? So we sit down not too far from this guy and go on about putting our skates on. But I can hear him and he *sounds* like Pommers! He looks and sounds like the guy, he must be him, right? Plus he was wearing this really cool and expensive looking watch but he was just dressed in jeans, a tshirt and sneakers but it was all *nice* and yeah.

Finally he leaves and I was like.. yo I think that was Pommers. Woooooo. :) (I bet he was being interviewed about his NEW CONTRACT!!!!!!!He's locked in. WOOOOOO!)

So we skate for a bit. (the 2 yr old didnt like it much but the 4 yr old was into it) then we have to take a potty break. Little kids, I tell ya. So notice that there are some "hockey guys" on another rink which is not unusual because they often have drop in hockey time while we're there. We wander over and Lo! It's Jason Pominville, Paul Gaustad, Jochen Hecht, Ryan Miller and another goalie (probably Lalime but I dunno for sure) and a coupla coaches. Neither was Lindy or Jeep but I dont know all the other coaches. They were doing various things but that was kinda neat. and it was like WHEEEEEE Sabres!

Then we skated a little more and had to get going to meet my sis and the other kids for lunch. But first we had to check the other rink.. and there were the rest of the fellas and the rookies too I think. We wandered in and stood by the glass behind the goal for a few minutes. I saw Royzie!!! YAY! He looked all happy and refreshed and just whee! I can tell for sure that Paille, Mair, Vanek, Afinogenov, Kotalik, Spacek, Numminen, Roy, and Lydman were there because I saw them all up close and personal. There were lots of guys there though, probably the whole team and the prospects. It was so cool. I wanted to stay and watch more but we had to leave. Maybe I'll go back sometime in the next week or so and watch some more.

I actually really enjoy hockey practices, I used to watch the Bombers all the time when I was in Dayton. It's just fun to see the different things they choose to work on and (at least when things are going well for the team) how the boys act like a bunch of kids out there, especially towards the end when they are playing games and goofing off. I love hockey and can't really get enough of the sport in general. One of these days I'm going to play. I just need to live closer to where such things happen and I don't so that isn't in the cards right now. One thing at a time.

Non-Sabre related but did I tell y'all that I'm in a play? I have wandered on tangents at times about how much I love/miss theatre and it's super true but the drought is over! Some folks randomly started up a community theatre in my dinky town and WE are doing "A Christmas Story" (yep, like the Ralphie, Red Ryder BB gun "you'll shoot your eye out" Christmas Story) I'm Miss Shields, the teacher. I'm rather excited about the whole thing and can't wait till we really get going. We had our first meeting last night and my first rehearsal isn't until the first week of October but it's going to be a blast, I'm sure of it. :)

And don't worry, I'll bug all of you fine folks who read my blog about when the show actually is (December 12, December 12) in case anybody wants to come see it! ;)

So that's all for now. Welcome back Sabres! :):):)
